Technical parameters of single-phase regulator
A. The regulator has an input voltage range. The IEC standard is that the input voltage varies within the range of (+20) of the rated value. Out of the range, the output voltage can not be stabilized within the required range, i.e. automatic acousto-optic alarm.
B. Output voltage regulation rate is the effect of output change caused by the change of input voltage. When the load is rated, the input voltage is raised from the rated value to the upper limit and lower limit according to the range of source voltage, and the maximum change of output voltage is measured (+). The smaller the value, the better it is. It is an important index to measure the performance of AC regulator.
C. Load Adjustment Rate: It is the effect of the change of output caused by the change of load. Change the magnitude of load current and measure the change of output voltage (+). The smaller the value, the better it is. It is also an important index to measure the performance of AC regulator.
D. Relative harmonic content of output voltage (also called distortion of output voltage), usually expressed by THD, is the ratio of total effective value of harmonic content to fundamental effective value. When the load is rated and the distortion of input voltage satisfies the reference condition (generally less than 3), the distortion of output voltage is measured when the input voltage is the lowest, rated and highest, and the maximum value is obtained. The better.
E. Efficiency: The ratio of output active power P0 to input active power Pi (percentage).
F. Load Power Factor
Voltage regulator capacity is expressed by volt-ampere (VA) or kilovolt-ampere (KVA), which means that besides pure resistive load, there are inductive and capacitive loads, that is, besides active power, there are reactive power in the load. This pointer reflects the ability of AC regulated power supply with inductive and capacitive loads.
In general, AC regulated power supply, the load power factor cos_is 0.8. When the product is 1KW, the maximum output active power (i.e. the capacity with resistive load) is 800W. If the product is expressed in 1KW (cos_is still 0.8), the output active power can be 1KW, and then the output power S = 1000/0.8 = 1250VA. When the load power factor is small, it indicates that the power supply equipment has a strong ability to adapt to the reactance load.
G. The parameters of AC regulator include output power, input frequency, source frequency effect, random deviation (time drift), no-load input power, source power factor (which is different from load power factor, the greater the better, the maximum is 1), relative harmonic content of source current, audio noise, three-phase AC regulator power supply, and unbalance of three-phase output voltage, etc. The definitions and test methods of these pointers can refer to relevant standards.

It is also suitable for users at the end of low-voltage distribution network with too low or too high supply voltage and large fluctuation amplitude, as well as for power equipment with large load variation, especially for all stable voltage power supply places with high demand for power network waveform. High-power compensated power regulator can be connected with firepower, hydraulic and small generators.
Introduction to Functions
Voltage regulator is a power supply circuit or equipment which can automatically adjust the output voltage. Its function is to stabilize the power supply voltage which fluctuates greatly and can not meet the requirements of electrical equipment within its set range, so that all kinds of circuits or electrical equipment can work normally under rated working voltage.
The original power regulator relied on the beat of the relay to stabilize the voltage. When the grid voltage fluctuates, the automatic correcting circuit of the power regulator starts to make the internal relay operate. Force the output voltage to remain near the set value. This circuit has the advantages of simple circuit, but the disadvantage is that the voltage stabilization accuracy is not high and every relay switching will cause a transient interruption of the power supply and spark interference.
It interferes greatly with the reading and writing of computer equipment, and is easy to cause erroneous signals on the computer, and even damages the hard disk in serious cases.
High-quality small regulators mostly use motor to drag carbon brush to stabilize voltage. This regulator has little interference to electrical equipment and relatively high stabilization accuracy.
